Zones

General

Zones are the main concept of the game.

A game consists of multiple zones in a specific order.
Each zone has an objective, which the attackers must complete to proceed to the next zone.
Each zone has a time limit for the attackers. When they run out of time, they lose.

General Zone Attributes

Timer

Each zone has a specific time limit which can vary from zone to zone. When the time expires, the attackers lose.

Objective

Each zone has an objective, the attackers have to complete.

The objective is visible in the sidebar (scoreboard).

Spawnpoints

Player spawnpoints are zone-specific. In most cases, the teams will spawn outside of the zones, on opposite sites. The defenders most likely on the side where the next zone is, and the attackers on the other side. But there can be exceptions.

Combat Area

Each zone has a combat area, which defines the area where players can be.

When a player runs outside of a combat area, a countdown of 10 seconds will start. When it expires, the player dies.

If the player was in the combat area, but through zone change, the player is now outside of the combat area, the player gets an extended, 60 seconds countdown the players is killed.

Both teams can have their own combat area.
For example: The attackers have their spawn and the zone in their combat area. The defenders also have their spawn and the zone in their combat area. But the attackers don't have the defender's spawn in their combat area and vice versa.

While a combat area is theoretically optional, it's set for almost any zone.

Zone types

Flag zone

Zone objective: Capture all flags in the zone

The zone is using the same flags like the ones in conquest, so you can read more information about the flags page of the conquest gamemode.

Rush target zone

Zone objective: Destroy all targets in the zone

Villager extraction zone

Zone objective: Escort a villager to a specific location

Gate destruction zone

This is a map-specific zone on the default map.

Zone objective: Destroy the main gate of the castle

The attackers have to destroy the main gate using the gate cannon which spawns in front of the main gate when the zone starts.

To use the gate cannon, the attackers have to carry cannonballs from the village to the cannon. Each player can only carry one cannonball at once. When a player carries a cannonball, that player gets slowness and glowing so that the defenders see that the player is carrying a cannonball.

To fire cannonballs, a player needs to right-click the gate cannon, put in the cannonball and click on fire in the inventory GUI.

The gate health is shown in the bossbar and sidebar.

When the gate is destroyed, the zone objective has been completed.
